On September 3, the first annual Carson-Newman Disc Golf Fundraiser tournament took place at the Kiwanis Disc Golf Course in Morristown, TN. The tournament had three divisions for participants to register under: Recreational, Advanced Division, and Women's Division.  After a brief meeting to go over rules and regulations, players split up into three-person teams.  Each group started at a different hole in order to make playing faster.

The rules for disc golf are similar to golf; each basket (equivalent to a hole in golf) has a number for par.  Players try to get par on each shot, or even under par if possible.  At the end, all the scores are calculated and the awards are given out to the players with the least amounts of shots.  Prizes for the tournament included rafting tickets, several kinds of discs, and free pizza among other things.

In all, 30 people participated.  The tournament raised over $400 for the Disc Golf Club, which means the team can attend more tournaments in the future.
