Eagle Golf Battles Division I

The Carson-Newman Golf Team took fourth place in the Birmingham Southern College Invitation. The Eagles finished ahead of many Division I schools in the 14 school field which included Bradley, Tennessee Tech, Nicholls State and Eastern Illinois.C-N's Dane Fairfield tied for second place in the tournament with a 73 in the first round, a one-under 71 in the second, and two-under 70 in the final round finishing at two-under par. Chad Grubb placed 21st, Chase Osiowy finished 26th, Tyler Lane 33rd, and Cory Hinchey 53rd.

The Eagle Golf team did not fair as well at Catawba.. , C-N finished in 12th place with a two-round score of 645.



Tyler Lane tied in fourth place, two-over par with a combined two round score of 144. Behind Lane was Chad Grub in 49th, Dane Fairfield 56h, Cory Hinchey tied at 67th, and Chase Osiowy placed at 72nd.
