The Carson-Newman Eagles Baseball team swept a Saturday doubleheader against Wingate 4-2 and 4-1 at Silver Diamond Complex. The Eagles (24-15, 12-5) maintain a share of the conference lead.Matt Teague pitched seven innings in game one, giving up two runs on five hits to get the win. Derek Long and Langdon Potts each picked up a couple of RBI's.
In game two, RBI singles by Nick Achberger ,Mills Rogers and Derek Long plated enough runs for Cole Draughn (6-1) to get the win.
In Sunday's finale, the Bulldogs hit two homers as part of a five run ninth inning rally to give Wingate a 10-5 win.
The Eagles will travel to Hickory, N.C. during the Easter weekend to take on Lenoir-Rhyne in a three game series.
