The forensics team competed at the Tennessee Porch Swing tournament in Nashville on Belmont's University's campus on the weekend of November 14-16. The full team competed in the first half of the swing and finished third out of 14 participating schools. Carson-Newman hosted the second half as a fundraiser and community service project. Drew Stewart was also a big winner for the college winning third place in communication analysis, fourth place in prose interpretation, fifth place in editorial impromptu speaking, sixth place in dramatic interpretation, and fifth place in the pentathlon.
Alex Davis placed second in duo interpretation and sixth in prose interpretation. Chad Adams won third and fourth places in after dinner speaking and duo interpretation, respectively. Josh Adams achieved third place in editorial impromptu speaking and fifth place in informative speaking. Jordan Rasnic placed fourth duo interpretation and Amber Burke gained fifth place in persuasive speaking. Jessica Fielden placed sixth in persuasive speaking and was a semi-finalist in prose interpretation.
