How could a wrestling program not make money for its
school, if its attracting 30-55 students a year?
Look at Campbell, UNCP, Limestone, and especially
Newberry. The potential for a roster of 50 plus is
there as shown by Newberry College and their success.

What's wrong with the C-N President & Athletic Director? Rather than letting everyone know of C-N's finanical problems, and requesting help to keep its program in tack, they just decide what is best for you the C-N students and alumni, and ram it down your throat. No hat in hand asking for your help, just a big stick to whip you into line. If this is allowed to stand there will be dire consequences for the school. Such must not happen, and with everyone's support this wrong can be undone, thereby producing a postive progam for the future.

Please support those who are trying to reinstate the wrestling team. The university will listen if people are willing to speak up.

Lazaro Reinoso graduated from Carson-Newman in 2000. He was 4 time All-American wrestler and national Champion in the NCAA Wrestling National Tournament.junior wold champion, and bronce oilmpic.
"Wrestling provided me the opportunity to live the American dream.I came to the United States in 1994. I was born in cuba,I fled Cuba because the communists. As immigrant,I worked for minimum wage taking care of my self.," said reinoso, in a letter to President O'Brien.
Reinos continued to describe the significance that the wrestling program had in his life.
"Wrestling at Carson-Newman instilled in us the desire to give back to our communities. I hope Carson-Newman will reconsider and think of how wrestling has made an impact on these young athletes. I know there are deserving young athletes who are hungry and driven to become successful after their C-N wrestling careers, if just given the opportunity. Not only that, C-N has helped me live a more consistent life as a Christian. It would be unfortunate if the wrestling program ended and was no longer able to provide the positive influence and impact on future athletes to come," said Reinoso.
